Chasing Cars was released as a single and is from their second album ‘Eyes Open’. Snow Patrol are an alternative rock band from Northern Ireland, in 2002 they signed a contract with Polydor Records. Near the end of the video he is lying on the floor at the top of an escalator, people then walk over him like he isn’t even there, this may be used to represent how invisible and lonely he may feel. ![]() The denotation of the lyrics of the chorus ‘if I lay here’, is physically represented by him lying on the floor of each location he is in. This may be used to represent the empty space that he wants to fill. Throughout the video there is always a space next to him, a good example of this is at the very beginning when he is in the cafe, he is positioned in the far right of the screen. The main plot of the video is about a man who wants to find someone to be with, he travels to numerous locations to try and find her. The music video for ‘Chasing Cars’ is a combination of narrative and concept. ![]()
